Born and raised in Maryland, with a background in owning and running a highly successful commercial and fashion photography studio – RickyO worked closely with national advertising agencies and to his credit his commercial work has appeared in such publications as the New Yorker, Italian and US Vogues, Glamour, Mademoiselle, Baltimore and Washington magazines, men’s only publications from Penthouse to Platinum and a multitude of others. His published car poster series of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Maseratis and other exotic machines has sold nationally in Spencer Gift Stores and the like, with original calendars and greeting cards to boot. In the 90’s, RickyO made waves after hanging up his camera for a paint brush, showing his artwork in many one-man shows in the DC and Baltimore area, as well as participating in numerous galleries around the United States. 

To date, RickyO has sold over 200 original works on paper and canvas.

 

Taking a hiatus from the world of fine art to pursue a family and other creative endeavors including digital filmmaking and creative writing, with a soon-to-be published novel on his experiences in the fashion photography business titled, “You Don’t know Dick”.

Edgy, erotic, contemporary, colorful - influenced by such artists as Andy Warhol, Patrick Nagel, Lichtenstein, Dan Deming, Helmut Newton - RickyO’s work is back and shinning brighter than ever.
